I had some problems with Scott's dirt bike (CRF450), took me a while to "just hop to the side a little on the seat and put your foot down". Dropped it in the grass a couple (ok, a lot) of times before I got the hang of it, also needed to pay more attention to what type of surface I was stopping on.

I'm not super mechanical myself, but I remember someone telling me higher speeds are ok, just don't sustain them. Something like go 65 for 5 min, then 70 for 5 min. The more mechanically minded will know better on this though.

Nope, handles fine... even with me on it. My only complaint is I raised the pegs to give her a little more clearance and it is pretty tight to fold up my long legs on it.... the stock pegs have 3 different holes you can put them in..

Well, I rode up to Hearne last weekend- not planning on it again. When you're closer to Houston I'll be happy to drop your bike.

It just so happens that I recently (Monday) accepted a job in The Woodlands and will be working Wed and Fri. I'm waiting on them receiving my computer and desk before I can start, but then I WILL take you up on the offer after work one Wed. Thanks!

I prob can't. If I sit all the way back on my big leather sofa, my feet barely hang off the front!

How much are those apprilla's and how dependable are they jody? My wife is thinking about trackdays and it looks like that 250 would be good for her I think.

based on my observations....they are like Jags. You better own 2 of them, one to drive and an extra to rotate while the other is in the shop. Just from what I know about Mr. Brutus' Duc, his shop bills could have purchased 2 of my bikes and mine has never gone to the shop once. I'm just saying...maint. is a nightmare unless you got loot and time for waiting on parts. Ask him, he's down to just one bike (the Duc) and looking for another one.
