Thats BS! I have liability and theft on my bike. Thats the way to go for bike insurance IMO unless your over 25 yrs old and they arent trying to charge an arm and a leg for full coverage anymore.

Sorry to hear they got your bike man. Seems to happen every night around here. Makes me wanna leave mine outside for a night and sit at the window with my glock. Maybe i can start picking the theives off one by one....

Hope you get it back man!

That's why I didnt have it on the 10r when it got stolen. It was costing me $540/month for comp, and $670/month for full, so I dropped it to liability. I dont know if it's a recent change, or if it's different by company. I have liability + theft/fire/vandalism for $400/ YEAR now.

That ain't gonna do sheit. All it takes is 3 guys and a minivan and your bike is up and gone in ten seconds

My 00 zx6r was stolen in 00. I had around 3k on it. I was fully covered even though it cost crazy money. As it turns out, it was worth every penny. I feel your pain.

Be proactive in locating it. Set up a search on EBAY for parts in your area for your bike, anything specific. Keep your eyes open and put out the word to guys who might come across the stuff in their line of work. Run a VIN check in a day or two to be sure the cops got it in the system correctly as STOLEN.

Hate to say it but you'll most certainly never see it again and the chances of catching whoever did are slim and none. Ask around your apt complex if anyone saw anything... prolly a chance someone from around your apartments are the ones who did it or told whoever did about it.

If you have renter's insurance you could say it was inside while it was stolen but since you already filed PO report probably not a good idea.

I haven't ever had insurance that let me get liability and theft so i never carried it either, I used a disc lock plus a "cut proof" cable. dunno how cut proof it was, it was never tested. and always kept under a cover. The disc locks with the alarm would prolly work well too.. if you keep it outside your window and can hear it.

There are so many bikes stolen in houston I've never understood why HPD doesn't step up and do a bike sting. they have bait cars and they have done the dodge ram thing with the bait rims to try and catch theives, but AFAIK no bike stings. Whoever said sit their bike outside and sit out with a glock has the right idea. Get a cheap .22 from a shop or something and stick it in their hands after the cops get there. No mercy for ****ing theives.. someone just stole my friend and I's bicycles off both our back porches... and a stack of alloy rims (they get $10 each at the scrap yard).. worth over a grand total they aren't gonna see fifty bucks out of. If they needed the money they coulda asked but since they stole it I still feel so bad for them I want to donate...

about fifty cents worth of lead to their .
