If you are trying to go fast in a straight line, id suggest getting a different bike as a base platform. The R6 isnt known for its power but rather its nimbley bimbleyness

I'm kinda partial to R1's but I would suggest taking it to the track, either the strait or the curly kind.

If that is the one they sell on ebay for like 149 that thing is , i just installed one, it looks like all the welding was done at first grade welding school, and those clamps also suck so i took it to a welder and did a better job.

+1 on the rider.

You can get Graves Velocity stacks for the intake and full exhaust - this will help you get the most out of your tuner - and take it to get a custom map on a dyno. The days of big power gains from a tune/exhaust are behind us, but it will definitely help out with a smoother and more responsive throttle (especially on your fly-by-wire throttle).

The best bang for your buck is going to be a mod. that doesn't even give you more power. Go -1 +3 (or more) on the front/back sprocket. This will lower your gear ratios so you have better low end acceleration and not as much top end.

If you're looking to have more of an off-the-line drag type bike (which really isn't what that bike was made for) you can get some lowering links for the rear and strap the front to help reduce wheelies at launch.

Along these same lines you can always get a nitrous kit and quick shifter - but again, that's not really what your bike's all about.

As far as engine upgrades go, I'm sure you can get some power gains by porting and polishing the heads - but I don't know how this will affect your warranty - I'm sure negatively. This is a costly route and you'd be better off to just move up to a liter bike for the money - but if you're interested, I believe that Metric Motorcycles here in Houston has the machine shop to do that for you.

Sprockets, PC, dyno tune, full exhaust.

The way you make a modern 600 faster is rev the out of it and very soon it will be faster than you can handle...

depends....what kind of riding are you trying to improve? straight line speed or corneringyou want bottom end or top end speed?

sprocket change would be the next cheapest option. then you can go velocity stacks, air filter, custom dyno tune, YEC engine work, the list goes on and on.
