Oil left on road for bikers?

Oil poured over this Cali. road to cause cyclists to wreck?

roadoil

The CHP officer said it looked like a deliberate act of sabotage because of the way the oil was poured from side to side rather than down the length of the highway like would happen had it been spilled.

speaking from experience, a biek that wrecks in a turn and puts a hole in a motors case can leave a line of oil that looks EXACTLY like that.

this is not by far the first time i have heard of something like this. i have heard of other things like nails and such in the road as well. understandable that someone might be tired of bikes speeding past their home, but doesn't give them the right to cause a complete stranger possible serious injury or even death from a forced accident. IMO this is no different then a car ramming you on your bike cause they are off at you. They are completely aware of what would come from these actions.

There's a link to the thread, no?

6 bikes wrecked. The oil was not from the bikes. CHP said that it appeared to have been put there deliberately.

I was a member of BARF when I thought I was moving out there, and my brother lives there now. they have had this information for a while. there are no houses in the area they are talking about, it's the road up to Alices'. lots of bikes and cars up there all day long. I will be there in 2 days, I'll get pics.

It's not jsut bikes... couple decades ago there was a rash of... 'accident arrangement' by various wrecker services. Metal Shrapnel to 'blow' tires etc, the idea being the wrecker hung out nearby so they could conventiently assist the person.

Think had it happen once to me, was 15-16, pulled a left onto Spring Cypress from I-45 feeder (figure 8am approx), just after entering the overpass the wheels went out from under the bike.
Remember seeing a wrecker parked at the gas station, in the corner facing the intersection/underpass, as I picked the bike up and pushed it out of the intersection into the gas station.

As I check the bike out, I noticed the wrecker was gone... I remember when I first got up, I was like 'wtf'. My palms were coated with clear, 'clean' gold oil...not black, brown or 'dirty'.

I hit a nice patch of oil on Airline going to Hobby on my bike with dirt oriented dual sport tires and I just slid luckily in a straight light and said wtf? I realized I had hit some oil but forgot by the time the stupid lady to my right at the blinking red light wouldn't go and tried to take off but just started spinning. I got lucky that I was going slow and straight.

They do the same thing at Palomar Mountain in San Diego. Too many wrecks and deaths in the area including innocent drivers
