Hello MH N00b needing advice

Hey guys I have been on this site for a while and wanted to introduce myself and also get some advice from the pros on the site. I'm from NW houston (290/1960) and currently going to UoH and working.
First of I dont have a bike yet (in the process) I would like to buy a used thats not tooo expensive. I am going to take MSC before i start riding. Also I dont wanna get a 250cc bike because dont wanna go through the process of buy it and then loosing interest in it 6mons later and trying to sell it and buy another bike so I have decided to go with a 600cc bike (I know I might get burned on that).
Now that the intro is out of the way my other questions to fellow riders is
has anyone have any experience in dealing with eximports cycles? good or bad please let me know. also how are their sales people? does anyone here knows a sales person personally that they would recommend?
Thanks once again guys

Hello and welcome! I feel ya about the 250cc and 600cc. No problem there as long as you know your limits and respect the bike. Also there will probably big a significant difference between certain 600s like sport and super sport. Keep that in mind. Anyways enjoy your stay.

Welcome to the Family!

ExI. doesn't seem to have a good name around here; but if you know someone personally maybe they can help you out with that.

welcome.

make sure to check out our 'for sale' section, plenty of good deals can be had there. have you considered a 500, maybe a ninja 500 or a suzuki GS500? they make excellent learner bikes. they have enough power to get up and go, but nothing to crazy, aaaand once you get a little confidence and experience they are fun as to thrash around.

Welcome.

My experience with ExIm was not good. I went there and the guy was offering me a used 2006 R6 for 10,000 USD or so (this was in Dec 07). As always I wanted to consult with the wife and I am glad that I did. The next day I went to Houston Yamaha South (they were bought by Mancuso, who is a sponsor of the site) and got an excelent deal on a brand new 07 R6.

Look in the Bikes for Sale section, you might find what you are looking for.

Well I'm not crazy about ex imports, over priced and need lots of work in the customer service department. However, I used to be a rep for suzuki and one of my favorite dealerships with a nice amount of good used bikes is located in Highlands, Tx (Tejas Motorsports). They have the absolute best prices on tires hands down and I know plenty of sales people that I can set u up with. Just lemme know what you decide.

don;t let eximports finance you... get your own financing and know what you want and how much you want to spend. don't let them convince you otherwise. be able to say no, no matter where you go

Welcome! Never dealt with eximports myself but I know several people who got charged way too much for a bike. Their prices are high as fck.

decide on your price then find a bike to match it. houston is giant. be patient and you will find what you are looking for. someone mentioned a suzuki gs 500awesome bike to learn on! got my license on one of those. eximport goes along with what they sell. overpriced and overrated. just my opinion.
