1 pc. vs 2 pc. leathers

It's time for me to start looking at new leathers. After three get offs they are about used up and 25 lbs. of weight loss has made them somewhat loose and floppy.

I'm really thinking about 2 pc. since so much of our riding is done in the hotter months and I can remove the top without the bottoms winding up around my ankles. They would also be much easier to get into and I believe I can get a better fit buying an individual jacket and pants rather than finding and "off the shelf" 1 pc. to fit my awkward shape.

Advise please.

if you already have 3 get offs i would stick with the 1pc.....
but seriously i would stay with the one piece, so what if its a little inconvenient, much safer IMO.

If you ever plan on racing, get a one piece. Aslo, go custom. Most of the custom manufacturers suits aren't appreciably more than an off-the-shelf suit. Sure you don't get fancy-pansty a* logos, but who really cares?

i have seen a few crashes involving a 2 pc. suit and in all cases, the 2 pieces were seperated and some injury was incurred, not much injury but, it did leave some skin damage. i recommend a 1 pc suit esp. if you are planning on doing a good number of track days.

Total of 3 between last year and this year and I do a lot of track days. So far only minor skin damage when a glove wore thru and I upgraded the gloves. If 2pc. are prone to separate, I better stay with the 1 pc. because I'm old and heal slowly.

1 piece and get them custom. From our talks you will be alot of trackdays and you will need to be safe. So what if it costs a tad bit more still worth it in my opinion. You can have them by next season if you act now!

Definitely stay with a 1 piece. They are much safer in a get off! It's well worth teh inconvenience. Check out teh Komodo's, they have a cool 2 zipper setup on some that I have seen

my spartan has a dual zipper set up in the torso, that way you don't have to pull it off to tinkle
