Local bike painters??

In the next couple months, I will be in the market for some body work and a GOOD paint job for my busa body work. I know the scheme, colors, decals I want to use but I am needing to a find a GOOD local painter. I have a buddy of mine that is a great painter and reasonably priced that has most of his painted bikes in Super Streetbike mag etc but I don't really want to mess with boxing up and shipping all my stuff up to him, then hoping I get it back from him in good shape.

If anyone knows any good local painters, let me know. I am not looking to spend a fortune but I want at least factory quality work, anything less will be unacceptable.

The paint scheme will be the stock 2000 blue/silver, but I will do a slightly different shade of blue, slightly different decals and LOTS of clear coat. We will also be glassing in the ram air holes and removing the front turn signals.

Anyone know anybody?

I think it would be worth the shipping trouble alone since you would be eliminating ALL the other troubles if RK does it...

Yeah I would like Rob to paint it....We have already talked about it. But boxing it up and shipping it would be a pain....... I still might though depending on what locals I find.

Puttin the parts that are laying around the garage into boxesseems pretty difficult. Just messing with ya. It would clean up that side for a while.

Its getting the packaged up correctly so it doesn't get damaged thats a PITA. I sold a tank a few years ago. I wrapped it well, packed it tight in a box with lots of padded and some how it still got dented. I would be extremely to open a box with freshly painted pieces and have them fu*ked up, especially custom painted pieces.

Right now, I could get by with just replacing both lowers and the upper. My tank is still perfect and my tail section is OK, not perfect but ok....at least for now. I can get two new lowers and an upper for about $1200. If I decide to paint my stuff, I still have to buy a couple good lowers to use as painters as my lowers have been cut on way too many times. Not sure yet what I am gonna do. I am broke right now anyway. Too many projects have zapped me and the credit cards.
