I kept the stock shock and bought racetech springs for my weight. You can type in your weight +gear and order it from racetech's website. The rear spring with the collar was only like $140, I believe. The fronts are a bit more. You can revalve it later if needed. It helps you get your preload adjusted right, at least. Made a huge difference on mine.

IMO springing is only half the equation.
Spring rate is dictated primarily by rider weight. (although there are other influences)
Your valving set up is dictated by spring rate.
Put in a heavier spring with valving set up for a lighter spring and you're up a rope.
