Anyone ever heard of this happen?

i rode crabbriver yesterday and got pretty low several times and kept on scraping my pegs. I had a few friends riding behind me and when we took a break they told me how my pegs could catch concrete and I could lose control. Has anyone ever heard of this happen to someone?

Its the little ball underneath the peg. Just look and you'll see it. Your pegs are designed to lift up for this very reason. But if you are seriously getting this low then you might want to invest in some aftermarket rearsets that you can adjust.

chances are your peg feelers are made out of steel... they are there to warn you about your lean angle... and if they are made out out of steel, then they are more likely to catch than grind... though they probably will grind (slowly)...

catching your peg in a groove on the road, or on a bump, or whatever on the street can severly upset (or unload) your rear suspension mid corner...

going into a corner fast, having that happen, can instantly put you out of control, on the wrong side of the road, can make you highside if you panic or send you off roading... killing/injuring you... and wading up your pride and joy... i.e., this is not a good situation to be in...

if you're riding that hard on crabb... better to slow it down and get off the seat... but best to take it to the track bro... just my 2c...

be safe out there...

It's sounds like your body position needs some work, also your suspension may not be properly adjusted and may be bottoming or riding low on it's sag.

it rides fine to me. Ive let a few friends ride it and they say it feels fine as well. i do know i need to work on my positioning though and i dont know if i am doing something wrong but i know the faster i got through the turns the more i have to lean it. it seems like the only way to take those turns that fast. im not trying to look pretty for eveyone while im doing it, im just trying take these turns as fast as i can without eating . i will get my bike checked out just to make sure everything is ok though

I haven't been riding that long, but I don't think it's a matter of looking pretty while you take a turn...it's more a matter of taking the turn correctly. When I first read your initial comment I thought that you needed better positioning (I've heard about pegs dragging) and Syd and Patrick confirmed that. Those guys know what they are talking about...me, well I sometimes know, but don't take my word...ask around some more. Be safe though, sounds like you're hauling out there

Ridesmart has one at Texas World Speedway on Dec. 10th and there is a track day at Houston Motorsport Ranch on Dec. 19th. Come out and play.
