why 600s

Actually it's cause I own one
Here's triva for you, it's OEM size is 590cc with 30HP.
what is it?

More seriously a 600 in an 1/8 mile race can bypass lots of the safety rules that kick in at faster speeds and times. Rules like full leathers, zippered waist, etc. You get into 750/1000s and they may do well first lap, but then get pulled out of competition for not having proper equipment.

Sounds like a cool event.....Never heard of an all 600 race before. All the 600 guys should be jumping on this to show support for the push for 600 competition...

hrp = 1/4 track

Right, HRP is a 1/4 mile track. However a 600 in a 1/8 will never reach the speeds and ET where certain safety requirements will kick in. Things like a NHRA license, full leathers with zip around waist, etc. This way with a 1/8 race lots more guys/gals can participate.

There are other full 1/4 mile races that day including Top Fuel Harleys, and lots of Metric bikes going close to 200MPH. By mid-aftrnoon, we'll be down to the fastest of the fastest, so that should make for some show. The earlier you come, the more you'll see.

Putting the 600s in around 1pm, let's us have something going on, in between those guy's quarter and semi finals. They need 10-20 minutes or more to get ready for their next race. We can run 15-25 heats for 600s in their qualifying, during those 20 minutes. So that's about 30-50 racers

We also have a Club Shootout that day. Starts around 1pm also. Four classes also 1/8th. They will have some hot competition too.
