perceptions!!!

so i have been told that i can no longer ride my 50 at work. my boss does not see that as putting out a "professional image" for the safety office. FYI the 50 is street legal and has passed the state inspection and i wear a helmet at all times per policy. I just wonder where they would draw the lines, a 50, moped, a 125 dual sport, a 250? this sucks. I have gotten in to more safety related discussions about motorcycles since i have been riding it on site, but i guess image is more important than the message.

thats what I say too, if you were stunting around, then he has a valid . if you were riding it to work and home, saving gas and all, there would probably be nothing said.
edit, i see you said no stunting at all, then imo, it depends on how much you like your yob and how far you will let them push you. make sure you ask them, does this mean I'm getting acompany vehicle to go back and forth in?, let em know its for the economy , you were directly contacted by gore himself and he said thanks for your conservation efforts and all.

i bring it to work in the back of the truck, unload it here because it is easier to park and get around on site.

Well I think that is crazy they are making not ride that around. The grounds are just perfect to comute from site to site on a phifty. I don't see why you are not aloud to ride it. It is the same as a scooter and it is street leagal. To bad you couldn't talk to the main guy there and ask if it is ok since it is a leagal vehical to drive on the streets. Then again I can see where you are speaking about the appearance on the grounds. It doesn't make it look to prefessional on a phifty even though imo it is no different then those crappy scooters people be riding on. I would preffer a phifty over those scooters to comute on around the site. I wonder if my father has seen you riding around there, I just might ask him this weekend on the way to the casino.

it's all about perceptions to him... i wonder what the perception would be and if he'd ask me to change my ride if it was
a) a 1969 beat up toyota corolla
b) a 2008 ferrari 360 spyder
c) a gold blinged out chrysler with hydraulics and fancy airbrushing

the percetions would be...

a) broke
b) makes too much money, envy
c) ... i'm not gonna go there but you catch my drift
