Bike wreck late last night on Bay Area/Pilgrims Point....

Wondering if anyone knows what happened?

I passed by and saw that they had a black streetbike on the ground and they were working on the rider. They had the road closed and there were police cars, ambulance and fire trucks. Looked pretty bad...

Hope whoever it was made it...

I was there. One of the first people on the scene. The driver was racing some buddies, doing about 80 down Bay area and a minivan pulled out in front of him. He hit the driver side pretty hard. His face was peeled off. Last I heard he is still in ICU.

lid isnt the end all of protection, whats between your ears will save you more times then gear.. gear just helps keep your skin on your body

True, because there's no possible way that CE armor could help absorb some of the fall. . . .

my friend lives like 100 yards from there. that seems like a really stupid street to race on.

your right armor can help, but your BRAIN if you had one to start with, would keep you from going 80 down a busy street racing.. so you wouldnt have to see how affect your CE armor was.... correct?

even if the light's green...the way the road curves it would probably be hard for a car making a right from pilgrim's point to see them.
i've never seen any cops at that valero... then again i only go there occasionally.
