I am about 5"8 so it looks bulky but I could tip toe it. What about performance wise?

My first bike. Very comfortable and very capable, this was Kawi's old SS, ZX-6R!

If you respect it, it's great first bike IMO. Over a year later and about 20k miles I'm on a ZX-10R now

Depends on the year. The 04 and earlier are carbed which can be un-fun in the higher mileages. I think the 05 and later are not.

My first bike was a 04 ZZR-600, maroonish red. If you are looking at the 04 nd earlier, check out zx6e.net. It is the biggest forum for that bike.

I would think so. Thats the 99-02 zx-6r (i think). I know of no known issues with them, and if it is your first it isnt a bad bike to learn on.
