I laid mine down in some gravel in the Beer Island parking lot about a year ago (~10,000 miles) and again in some gravel in the mountains in Mexico on the wrong road to Batopilas...but other than that I'm 4 years and accident free! Neither of those caused anything more than a couple scuffs.

I did say "knock on my wood"......taken care of.

I talk about it all the time. For years people keep warning me not to say that I have never gone down (on a bike OR a guy...before you dumasses try to call me out on that BS). Those superstitious people have all been wrong so far!

11k since Dec from new rider. No wrecks. Dropped it at 3 mph in a parking lot, with small scratch other than that... Commute rush hour, beltway, westpark, 610 etc, lane split, etc Not one wreck with a car yet. I'm praying it stays that way. I wear full gear and full back protector, but I'm not keen on testing it out.

A friend and I were cruising a back road, good thing we both weren't going crazy. We came over a hill, and hit gravel at 60 mph. We coasted slowly to a stop and had quite the rush of adrenaline and fear!

Well for me it's just reassuring to know that people aren't going down every few thousand miles or so.

That helps me remain confident that if I pay attention to everything around me and dont drive like an idiot, I've got a good chance
