I think it was the right move, but I would have liked to see him on a factory GP bike.

I think for the kind of money he was wanting, The GP series was really wanting a little better results out of him the few races he did run. Ben is a of a rider and I like him allot but you have to look at the talent of AMA versus's the GP series. The guys in the GP series are frikken animals compared to AMA. So I think WSBK is a really smart move for him, Maybe after he proves his skills against those guys he will get a better chance in GP.

I thought the big announcement wasn't until tomorrow?>?

Either way....

being so used to just racing miladin on a dominant machine... Only time will tell if he is able to hang with the big boys...

He gets so if miladin cuts him off or accidently touches.. how the is he gonna react to Haga Leaning on him?

Yamaha's offical site has the article up.

http://www.yamaha-racing.com/Racing/...e%20for%202009

I think this is a great move. He will be in the same building as the Fiat MotoGP team in Italy. Then when Valentino retires in a few years he can make the jump straight to the factory GP team.

I'm probably one of the few that would have rather seen him go to WSBK. Yes, Moto GP is the "top" thing out there, but the racing in WSBK (And World Supersport) is unmatched anywhere. WSBK is in desperate need of strong US representation. Ever since Colin left... (crickets)

I would also love to see Zemke and Hayes in World Supersport. Last week Hayes already went top 10 in his first race on a bike and track track he'd never ridden on.

I'm sure Haga will have something to say about that. I think Haga belives its his turn for a title now that Troy has retired. Non-the-less, Ben is an American, so I'll cheer for him.
