It is unreal the cost they have listed for items to replace my factory ugly exhaust to be replaced with a new factory exhaust cuz it got scuffed 980 ... DOLLARS I COULD BUY A WHOLE NEW COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM. So my bike was totaled because dealers cost is unbeliavable. I wanted to do the same as you and still have a bike, insurance offered me 7,000 for my brand new bike. Also they said minus 35% of that and I can keep it with a salvage title which my lien holder would have tripped. Insurance guy just said sorry either you accept the fact your bike deppreciated 4,000 in 6 months and take that or eat the huge 35% so you can still play motorcycle. So little research-- in texas you have the right to choose your shop for repairs so I called the insurance guy and told him I found a shop that would fix the bike for 300 under total (4,800) he asked me the name of it I just gave him the name of the shop I work at he send ok well we can do this I will come out there tommorrow and cut you a check for the full amount to total (5100) and the next I had my check he we were done. NOW what would you do with 5k for your bike? ME( hot bodies undertail exhaust chain sprocket, power commander, all new fairings with fresh paint work and still have 2,500 in my pocket---you should try it. Sorry typed too much so proud of myself.
yeah thats what im wanting to do, just depends on what we work ut on the bikes value cause im nor gonna let them low ball me on price since it has exhaust, power commander, intake, and other stuff that i did to it al its all brand new and i have reciepts for all of it. not sure if motocycles are the same but my truck insurance tried to give me a low price when my just took on water, and after a few days of showing proof of all the extras done to it i got several thousand more

can it be done with out it looking ghetto? the scratches are not deep all its just on the cap right under it some of the scrates didnt make it to the metal. thought about sanding it but not sure if the cover was painted or if it was coated, also if i would be able to find the right color.

yeah its hard to see the damage now since the case is gunmetal, and on the bottom side of it. my buddy said just use the money for something else since its only scuffed about an inch wide and about a pencil width tall

Its metal. Polish the scratches out of the clutch cover. Or cut the center out, mount and bolt on a lexan cover for aestetics.

Ok went to the shop this morning to check the bike and get the paper work for insurance. First off the guy at the shop said for me to buy it back and if i dont he for sure does. He said the damage is not near as bad as what the estimate says they just nit picked everything and if it had a tiny scratch they just decided to replace it instead of repair. Also the brakes he said is an easy fix, he said to bleed the lines and if that doesnt work theres a bad seal in the master cylinder that he explained to me. Talked to insurance they will give me 9k since that is what i paid, the guy at honda said i should be able to buy it back for about 1500. He said i can get aftermarket plastics, right brake lever and pegand a few other misc items and it would set me back another 1000 and it would be just as good as when i bought it.
