Well me and some locals are planing on making a trip to the "forest" after new fairings and tank come in for my bike (just laid her over 2 weeks ago). I understand how your supposed to read the rode but to really get aggressive on any street I would want to have rode the street before several times, before I just go all out. With reading the road you can get only so aggressive while staying within the safe range but on a street you know well you can push the limits. Obviously its way too far for me to invest the time to treck it often so I will just go out and have fun and do the speed limit there shouldn't be a issue then.

I would be careful out there at even the speed limit in spots, especially with your experience and the fact you "laid it down" already.

No matter how well you think you "know" a road, pushing your limits on the street can and will get you hurt.

Good advice. Take it to the track. I don't mind pushing it a bit, but I don't want to be riding at full tilt, only to enjoy the site of an oncoming truck in my lane! I only push harder on the abandoned roads, or very very low traffic roads with hardly any cars, since even some country roads I've experinced when driving with family etc and notice how they go over the middle, and others go over the middle on the tight country roads. That would be disastrous if going 40mph+ dragging knee. I want to live to see another day!

Not to be a downer... But I really don't get why the "forest is all that" Compared to some beautiful roads in the hill country, that is more really high speed sweepers than nice tight twisties. I guess someone people like different "flavors" of riding. I find that the speed necessary to really make time through it puts it way above legal, so I just mosey along under 80 mph maximum. I personally like the really really really tight stuff. I'd rather get really good at handling intense 20-30mph switchbacks than 100 mph sweepers. Then again, that reminds me that maybe I should get me my motard! Going into the median with hurricane traffic stuck in lane might be kind of fun! :-)

Well I was hit by a car so it wasn't really a matter of skill but I am sure it will catch up with me. I ride in a month or so and I don't even know if i will be the same rider or scared of cars or what but until them just waiting on my arm to heal.
