Yeah that is TOTAL not his salary from Yamaha. I wasn't counting endorsements.

We knew there were no suzukis left to ride and Ben wants motoGP. I wonder why not Nicky's ride? Or at worst case one of the satellite Honda teams.

The rumor is Dovizioso is moving up to the factory ride. Also, Honda has been very sweet on their 250 riders and seem to be happy to promote from within. And this just came out today....

250cc rider Yuki Takahashi´s ascension to MotoGP is expected to be announced this weekend, and the JiR Team Scot man has revealed that he could have his first ride on an 800cc machine as soon as the post-season test at Valencia.

With his current team´s plans for a split to be divulged further on Friday, Japanese rider Takahashi is expected to play an important part in Honda´s plans to field a home competitor in the premier class as a replacement for Andrea Dovizioso. Takahashi admitted that a move was close to completion at the Thursday pocketbike event, in which he raced against some of Honda´s other Japanese motorcycle competitors.

`We are almost certain to move up to MotoGP, so I am really happy about this,´ said Takahashi. `I like the team and they are a good fit for me.

Takeshi to MotoGP
with riders like Kalio, Bautista, Simoncheli, Kiyo and Spies to choose from to name a few they promote takeshi
HRC gets it so right with Dovi and so wrong with Takeshi IMHO.

See, I think Takahashi has done a good job this year (and last)! He's on a bike that hasn't seen development since 2004... that's a tremendous amount of time in the motorcycling community. While he hasn't been a race winner this year, he's been competitive at several events.

Now, that being said there are a few guys out there at probably deserve the ride more... but I don't think the promotion is undeserved for Yuki.

Talking about promotions, how about Rea running an SBK next year replacing Sofo? That team is shaping good. Too bad for Pitt but i guess they are looking for youngsters except checa lol.

Yeah I'm not sure I like that idea... I kind of want to see Rea stay in supersport one more year.

why???????
he spent 2 years on superbikes in BSB prior to to taking the WSS ride and he rides a Superbike BETTER than he does a 600SS. He's now seen the WSB tracks and got a feel for the paddock, let him off the leash.
Rea is a wolf in sheeps clothing, a softly spoken MONSTER and my tip for the very top

Go Johnny Go, Go

where's that picture of Johnny jumpimg the mountain section at Cadwell when you want it...............................

I'm a strong believer that you need to win a championship or show consistent front runner capability over the course of a few years in order to be promoted... that being said, I know he did well in BSB but he never won a title. Didn't Kyo win the last two BSB titles?

If two Ten Kate seats are coming open then I think he should be in the running... but if it's just one seat coming open, I'm not sure he's the best choice.

Looks like the "Spies to Yamaha" deal will happen since Haga left, and now Corser has signed onto BMW. Also, Aprilia has announced its new 1000 v4 superbike program, next year, too.

What a great time to be a fan!

Kiyo certainly did but Johnny was a rookie in 06 in a one man saterlite team (RedBull Honda) and Kiyo's teamate in 07 and but for a little bad luck and youthful overexhuberance could easily have been a contender right to the end.
