Northside Backroad Riders Beware

I went for an afternoon ride today with my brother on our favorite back highway twisties and found a couple things that everyone that rides these rodes (which is prolly 80% or more of us) needs to be aware of.

When exiting the forest, just past the Harley bar is the little town of Richards. When in Richards I know a few people like to take the left on 1486, then take that right on 2819 to run the twisties into Anderson. That first corner you hit has pea size gravel everywhere. Luckily I dipped into it pretty mildly, so we didn't have an incident, but did have to stop in Anderson to change my underwear. I don't remember that gravel being there, but I had only run this route twice before and was following some other guys and maybe just didn't notice it before.

Also, there was a spot on 3090 that looked like someone poured motor oil all over one of the corners. I didn't feel any loss of traction when I went through it, but once again, I had to change at Yankees. It may not have been oil, but it is something to the aware of.

mmm... I saw that and figured it was water from the field but makes sense. I just rode in the dry spot between the yellow line and the spill.

That first corner on 2819 coming from Richards is known for gravel. ALWAYS be careful there. Also be aware of the cop living right at the fork where one heads into Anderson .

362 looked pretty good today, nothing noteworthy with regards to on the road as well as 149.

But that doesn't mean it won't change so still be careful on these roads as there might be stuff spilled onto the street from workers when fixing power lines.
