Question Help! F4i Rear Seat Locked

My buddy's 01 Honda CBR600 F4i rear seat wont open. This wouldn't be a problem but I let him borrow my helmet and my helmet is clipped in the back!

Friend said after he locked my helmet in place he placed the seat and felt a snap. He believes its the cable that locks the seat in place because there is currently no resistance on the key hole when turning it to the open position.

I Googled this and came up with a post on another site saying we need to remove the front seat and get to the back.
Problem is...there were no pictures or any feedback on if and how he did it.

Any help is appreciated.

Here are some pictures.
It is a Corbin seat and has a hole in the back. not sure if i could use a hanger to mess around with the cable but dont want to screw something up...

Under tail. Maybe removing the Cowl might help? but still don't know how.

We have removed the seat and my skinny hands can get to the latch. however it wont budge. can somebody take a picture of their f4i and post it up. i want to see what im grabbing at.
also.. turn the key while opened and see what the mechanism does. if i can duplicate it with my hand it will most likely open. im pushing down on the latch but its not budging. (even with the key turned to the open position)

gabriel.. your PM is either full or disabled. Pm me.

Try pushing down on the seat at the same time.

Arrow

Thanks for all the help guys. We got it undone.
Here are some of the pics (with the seat removed) in case this happens to someone else.
We removed the front seat by lifting the padding and undoing the two bolts. from there we entered through the left side as there is more room (seems like Honda knew this was going to happen and purposely molded the plastic a certain way lol).

Bikers?authkeyDsXQK4Oioto#5247813978021949938
As stunterdude showed we pulled the brass cable towards the outside of the bike. and it became loose.
Bikers?authkeyDsXQK4Oioto#5247813981390645890
The cable came loose from the U bracket holding it in place and thus the cable had to resistance.
(cable right under the Brake Light Switch)
