you could get a guardian 14k for around 3600 from lowes. I had to install 3 of those suckers just today

3500 watts wont run too much thats about 14 amps so a few lights maybe a small window unit

thats like 30 amps man, were running a 5000 watt and have a frig, a freezer, my computer, some lights, some fans and router and dsl modem. and the draw is minimum.

30 amps at 120v your right as long as you dont run any 220v
