Boots around town?

What do you wear for foot protection when around town (not on rides or long distances)? ie: trip to the gas station, movies, friends house, etc.

Ive been wearing Docs around town which only offer a little bit of abrasion protection.....My feet feel pretty vulnerable lol....wasn't sure how comfortable riding boots would be wearing around all day at work or school.
Is there something else I could be riding with that I could also go to class all day in?

Alpine Stars SMX Track Boots. Work just fine.

If your gonna be somewhere for a while toss the tennis shows in the backpack.

If you're loking for just an around town boot that's comfortable, but provides a good amount of protection, look into a street boot such as http://www.alpinestars.com/SMX_Shoe/.../p/251307.html or something similar from another company.

I used to wear my raceboots to class when i was in school though, and I was fine.

That's cool, I just usually wear my work boots around, but they are sorta heavy and uncomfortable
