the drum and forks were the worst.. gears were just a lil brazed up and shiny. shift synconizer(sp) on the drum was wasted right were first/neutral/and second gears meet. like $500 in parts and gaskets

What's the word on your 636? Order parts yet? Buy new gears and have them undercut. . . no more bad trans.

once i craked the case it was pretty easy to do. make sure to get the kawi case sealer. i dont remember the number of it but i havent had a leak. think $20

most people start on big bikes and do just fine.. its all in how u WANT to ride. may drop it but thats what frame sliders are for.

true.. but like i said its how u want to ride. i didnt go over 45mph or get on city street til i felt comfortable ridin it. i SOLD some to people that never rode before and they would drive them home and wonder why they recked them. it isnt the power the the stupidity.

the ninja is a great starter bike plus it been revamped for 08 and the price is right i hear the is a waiting list for a new one though ..there are lots of the older models on the market these days good luck with what ever you get most important thing is your gear always dress for the crash not the ride
