Lost bike parts in mail

I bought some shocks from a guy in NY. He mailed it out with delivery confirmation on Aug 25th..and today, Sept 8th, it's still not here yet. The only thing it said according to that is "Acceptance on Aug 25th at 2:22pm"
How long does regular parcel post typically take??

just for clarification.
--> acceptance: accept package at post office for delivery
--> delivered: acceptance on receiver's end.

parcel post is slow as at times, it may still show up in the next few days...of course if the dude packed them poorly they could have tore open and then the post office delays it further...

The guy said he packed it real good...I'm hoping it's the hurricane/bad weather that delayed it.
