Textile Jackets

I have a question can you wash textile jackets?...Like if i was to remove the pads and put it on gentle wash cold and let it air dry? will that ruin the jacket?...and it does have a little leather on the jacket...

I would go by what the manufacturer tag says. some jackets can be machine washed but most must be dry cleaned.

mine says not to dry clean or machine wash. Its a Fieldsheer. Every month or so I fill the tub up with cool water and throw some detergent in, then toss the jacket i in, let it soak for a bit, and then kind of scrub it with itself. Then i rinse it, and hang it out to dry. I need to do it again soon too, cause it has way too many lovebugs splatted into it now!
