I prefer my Alpinestars. I also have a pair of Joe Rocket Blaster boots for the street that I have had for years.

I ride w the Alpinstar's; very, very light, breath well and I can dance in them, relax in them, tuck in w track attire or wear them under jeans too

back on serious note, I like the Alpinestars I have because they fit tight but comfortable, and are very light... everyone that felt them freak out. never lose grip in the rain or anything. And they aren't very 'showy' so when you meet friends out at night and take off your jacket, you look fairly normal, minus the toe pucks.

I always read that the bottom of the Sidis are really soft, and tend to wear out fairly fast. I've had 2 pairs of Alpinestar SMX's, and I love them. They can squeek a bit, but a quick shot of WD-40 at the ankle pivot every month or two takes care of that.

Matt, you do know that toe slider snaps right off if ya wanna take it off right?

How is the Astar quality. I have only owned on piece of their equipment. That was a pair of gloves that fell apart within 2 weeks, and the palms wore through in about 500 miles of riding. I have been reluctant to buy any of their stuff since. I have been sticking with AGV, but havent tried AGV boots. Any opinions?

I have the Sidi vented boots. Size 41. When i got them, they told me thats the smallest size in the vented. The non-vented ones go alot smaller. They are slightly big on my feet (I was sized at a 40). I wear 7 to 7.5 womans.
As far as the boots, I love them. They are super light.
I did notice that they don't have any heal or platform. Not a problem for me, but if you have problems reaching in tennis shoes, this will be worse. I wear mine for both street and track.
