if you want to be seen riding in a clown outfit or assless chaps works better than a bit of fuzz on top of your helmet.
and also a bit more difficult to get off/out of when your done riding, going into a store etc.

Mohawks are the most common, cheapest and easily available...
there'c a company that makes a latex/vinyl cover that vaugely resembles the 'viking' helmets, made for 3/4 & 1/2 helmets.
skulllskinz, makes a clioth(?) helmet cover and mesh decal visor covers.

I'll tell you what, I had one on for about 3 months and I had more drivers do a double take and look at me then ever before. I felt like I was riding with neon orange riding gear. I guarantee that it helps very much with cages seeing you.

I got it from Airbrushguy.com...but check Ebay as he sometimes sells his helmets for cheap.

And the mohawk fell off, not the actual helmet.

yall are a bunch of stuck up weenies. ask yourself this question. are you too good for it? i mean come on dude we are all out here to have fun. the hawk is just another funny thing that obviously gets you attention. which in my book is a good thing. call me a poser for it all you want. just makes you look insecure.

Seriously? Us thinking something is totally ridiculous and stupid makes us insecure?

I was never a big fan of the 'hawk, but I liked some of the other suction cop oddities you can stick on, like bunny ears and dog ears...
