Sheriff showed love

85 in a 40 all paper work was in order I was respectful and I took responsibility for my actions. He liked the fact that I was not making up excuses and trying to get out of the ticket so he let me go. Also I was not swerving in and out of traffic there was a little clear straight away.
So all I can say is much love to the Harris County Sheriff. :notworthy

He was moving in the opposite direction so when he said 85 I was like, "85?"
I don't think it was really 85 but I couldn't tell. I know their radar is not accurate when they are moving plus it needs direct line of sight but the bottom line was I knew I was moving so I didn't argue. I was definitely lucky as . When I saw it was the sheriff I definitely didn't think I was getting off of that one.

well i have stopped for the cops 3 times before all with expired reg. and either going 20+ over the speed limit or being sighted doing wheelies and all of them have let me go for being respectful enough to pull over and being straight up with them.

speaking of quotas, i have seen some of what i like to call "quota traps" downtown.

some cop will find a street with very slow traffic, and a ton of cars, early in the morning. he will park his car or bike on a sidestreet, and then stand in the road, waving everyone through. every car with out of date registration or inspection he waves them onto the side street. i have seen them have two people pulled over at a time. i bet these cops can make their whole months quota in a single morning doing that.

so if he got off of 1 where he WAS breaking the law, and then gets popped for 1 where he wasn't, then he's even?

or is it only if you get away w/ it, it's ok? how often do you/i break the law and get away w/ it........ALOT. so why about it when you do get popped........the #'s are in favor of lawbreaking.

always being respectful and honest helps, sometimes you'll get off and sometimes you wont, i had cops pull me over we'd talk and laugh and he'd still give me a ticket, no big deal, i did the right thing and thats all that matters, if you know they want to pull you over when the lights come on, just go ahead and pull over, dont make them chase you the least little bit, it'll help..
