boot repair

what do you guys do about tearing the bottom of the boot with the peg?
i guess once i started weighing the peg it really started "stabbing" the end of the peg into the bottom of the boot.
there is gotta be a trick around this.
aftermarket pegs will prolly help, but for how long?
my last set of boots only lasted three trackdays before the end of the peg went through the soul of the boot and into my foot......

The vortex after market arent much better, those are shin skinners. They eat boots also. Duck tape FTW!

If you have Vortex, I have the same issue (not as bad though apparently...). They are meat grinders!

I filed mine down some and it helps, but on the right side (where I was having the worst issues with that), I replaced my peg with a Woodcraft. I'll probably do the same on the left side.

I just used a guy here on Westheimer, just west of the beltway before Wilcrest on the northside. Old school for sure. He re-tacked my boots (the soles came off in my high side) and repaired a ripped seam on my 2 piece for a grand total of $35. Couldn't beat that with a stick.

There is a place next to Motorcycles Unlimited that I had some work done at. It turned out really good.

i guess the quality of roadrace boots has gone to then. my Alpinestar SMXR's havent givin me a lick of trouble. Vortex pegs ripped thru my Sidi Corsa's in the past, but i switched to Alpinestar & stock pegs and that combo has been good to me.
