warrant question

Okay I have an outstanding ticket in one of the counties near Dallas and it has to be paid REAL SOON. if I am not able to come up with the $$$ in time and it turns into a warrant, do can cops in Ft. Bend and Harris county see the warrant and take me to jail?

Or would I have to be in the issuing county?

I think TXDPS would be your biggest worry.

Either way...work out a payment plan man!

yes, if you get pulled over in houston and you have a ticket anywhere in Texas they will arrest you and then just "ship" your to dallas.

also just call them up and say you dont have all the money and they will give you payment plants like they have said. 50 bucks a week or like 100 a month or whatever you can pay just pay it. they will work with you.

RojerLocless beat me to it, but letting it go to warrant will cost a load more money in the end. All the dang fees you have to pay to clear a warrant are not worth it imo. Do the payment plan.

i think they could arrest you, then they'll ask that county if they want to pay for transport, highly unlikley over a ticket, and you'll be released.

call the county and get on payments, not worth all the hassle.

I had a similar situation with a warrant in Kendall Co. I got pulled over in Houston, they saw the warrant for Kendall Co. When they called they told the officer that the amount for extradition exceeded the warrant amount and to let me go. Either way clean up your name with John Law.

Here's the scoop....it's a shoot. If you get pulled over for something minor they tend to run a check on you locally. But it all depends on the cop. If you ain't got the money to pay, then make the city pay. This is what you do, let it go to warrant, then on Friday after work (whatever you Friday is) take a drive to Dallas, turn yourself in. You'll be out of jail before you have to be back to work (time served)

I think I saw something on a ford taurus website forums that would definitely confirm this. I would not take any chances.

As mentioned previously, yes, if it goes to warrant status you can be arrested and vehicle impounded. Call and work out a payment plan as we do not have a debtor’s prison here in the US (think !) and they will work with you.

Your not going to get arrested for a Dallas Ticket because NO ONE in Dallas is going to drive all the way down here to pick you up and take you ALL THE WAY back to Dallas.

What will happen is that when you have to get your TDL renewed it will be denied and you will get an INVALID DRIVER LICENSE, which is the same thing as a SUSPENDED LICENSE. When this happens you can be placed in jail but it won't be for a little class C charge, you will be placed in COUNTY JAIL on a DRIVING WHILE LICENSE INVALID charge. So unless your a fan of strip searches with other dudes pay the little traffic ticket.

As I said my ticket was up past dallas I went to jail in the hill country, my lic. was not suspended. THP is who got me because they see all of texas but if it had been a local yokal they would not have seen it because i had been stopped by others and had no problems.
