if they both fit good then flip a coin... they are on par with each other. Personally I don't see how they would both fit perfectly seeing as how they have different shaped internals, but I guess anything can happen, lol.

Those are both good choices. since you like the way they both fit just go with the one that you like the looks of best.

seriously, i went to Motorcycles Unlimited last weekend and spent an hours trying on helmets. I got it down to those 2. they fit snug and feel perfect. no slack or movement felt like it held my can in place...

get the shoei. i had an arai that fell apart. look at the rubber ring around the rim. notice the seam right there on the jaw? came delaminated on mine and the intake vents came off! it was the signet gtr which is old but i took very good care of it and it still fell apart. notice the shoei's ring is all one piece. plus its just a better helmet as far as im concerned. i have the rf1000 which is the cheaper one, but it has more graphic options and fits almost the same as the x11 but with different venting. venting is great though in both helmets.

I'd be curious as to which one is quieter???

Since they both fit good.. they are both light.. vent air well.. both are expensive..

It comes down to looks and my main question is noise.

Has anyone actually tried BOTH out and can give some good feedback on this.

shoei is quieter, but arai breath better...at hight speed, arai holds better when you tucked in....but thats just me....shoei fits me better than any helmets out there but i use arai more especially in summer. when it comes to helmets, you have to try them on while riding, not just trying it at the store...cg has a 7days policy i think

ya that was the other thing i forgot to mention. the arai faceshield mechanism acts like a big wind scoop conveniently located right next to your ears. the shoei is stream line in this location making it tremendously quieter than the arai. the faceshield is also rediculously easier to change on the shoei. takes me literally 20 seconds with out getting my screen all smudgy.

X11. I may get one myself soon. Using a RF1000 right now. We have 3 RF1000's now and I loved them all.
