I had two sets of masters on my bike due to changing sprockes and evded up loosing about 4 retaining clips so if you are not constently doing sprocket or chain adjustments I would just run the rivit. I have one non rivit master on my bike now and am ridding on the street but I have 2 wires around the master to help keep the retaining clip on and I look to see if it is still in place before I ride. I now carry extra clips just incase.

Rivet first......if you HAVE to run a clip style, make sure you silicone the retaining clip to the link.(although I have had the clips still break and the silicone were holding the pieces in there.... )

I rivet everything now.
