Help with trailer title .... TX DOT not very usefull

So I just bought a 4x8 folding trailer from some dude off of craigslist. He never titled or registered it so I'm trying to figure out how to do that. Called TX DOT and all I got was that I had to do a non-titled trailer registration. So, how does one do that? What forms and info am I going to need?

I have no clue what the manufacturer is nor is their a serial number.

Thanks

Call the county tax office; they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Yup, claim it as home made or "custom", they should ask you how much you intend to carry on it, and they will base the fee on that.

P.S. I added about 100lbs to the max I thought I would ever carry on mine, just to make sure there wouldn't be potential for a ticket down the road.

The previous owner should have gotten a certificate with the trailer to apply for a title. But the easiest and simplest way is go the "homemade" route.

I got the homemade form online and it asks for a "Weight Per Weight Certificate" ... what's that?
