Does it fit well?

I just got a new KBC xsmall helmet. It's not as snug as I'd hoped, but I don't want to send it back and wait another two weeks for the xxsmall...

It's snug enough to not roll around on my head, as my small does, but it does not give me chipmunk cheeks, either... it's somewhere in between.

Should I suck it up and wait for the xxsmall? What is the proper fit? I've read plenty of how-to's, but how can you really know for sure?

BTW- my head is about 21.5"

get some xsmall cheek pads, you can still use the helmet while you wait for them. Most of the time xsmall helmets are small shells with thicker cheek pads

thanks- can I get larger pads for the top of my head? That's where it seems loose.

Retention is key for a proper fit. With helmet on and chin strap buckled move it left to right, then up and down. There should not be any significant movement. If there is, suck it up and wait another couple weeks for the proper fit

id suck it up and get a new helmet, you only get one head, and if you are not biting your cheaks get a smaller one.

remember the padding you have now will only get more loose while you have the helmet and wear it in.

get a new one I sent my kbc back the day i got it. A new helmet should feel tight when you first get it, like almost uncomfortable, and it will break in! If you have any doubt it may be too loose, SEND IT BACK!!!

The space at the top would be my concern. Probably need the smaller sized helmet. Let's all hear it for a little head.

I'd suck it up and get the 2x..I had to do the same thing for my tiny head! And it may not take 2 weeks mine actually came in a couple days later when then told me it would take 7-10. Better safe than sorry!

I DID- they didn't have any xxsmall to try on- as did NONE of the other shops I tried (two others, only). That's why I measured my head and read the size chart.

' men- think ALL women are stupid- just because theirs is.

Go try helmets on at Honda/Ducati or CycleGear on the Northside for sizing. They ought to have something that size.

Cycle gear was one of the stores I tried. - I'll send it back. If the xxsmall doesn't fit, then I'll return it for another brand.

I got fitted (not at Motorcycles Unlimited) and was told to get a Small, which of course, was WAYYYY TOOOO BIGGGG...... sigh men (BC)

I had the same prob w/ my XS Shoei, I got thicker pads for the cheeks and it fixed the problem. If you replaced the top pads (not sure if you can or not) the chin might sit too high, which would be no bueno. The side pads on mine gave a bit after a few rides, but I'm not sure that the top ones would.... I'd prolly just replace the cheeks and give it a couple of weeks...just my .02
