What's A Good Response??

So there's a new guy at work and he rides a 07 Gixxer 1000!
It's all stock! Yellow and black. Well today for the first time we showed up at the same time so as I was getting off my bike he comes up and say's " Sweet Bike! I've Been Looking At It Every Day! It's F@#kin Clean!" I Said Thanks. He then asked "mine is pretty sweet hun?" I was at a lost for words and said "sure why not." He looked at me with a blank look and said "you don't have to be a smartass!" Then he walked off.

What would have been a better answer?
What should I say to him next time I see him?

how about "if you're gonna be a rider, you might as well start off by not being a thin skinned little girl scout. or else you can just go buy a Hardley and be done with it".

I thought what you said was pretty good. If you see him again, give him the other barrel and say, "In case I wasn't clear last time we spoke, I wanted you to know that your bike is a POS and you're a complete and total conceited nimrod. It's morons like you that make me want to take up bowling and basket weaving because being associated with motorcycles when you're known for occasionally riding one is an insult to my intelligence. It's pretty obvious that you're in this motorcycle thing for the short-haul, and you're merely using motorcycles as a guise for trolling for little boys like a chicken hawk. I love motorcycles; I am in this for life. Now good day, madam. I said good day, madam!"

I would have said yours is nice too. I have people pull up and saw nice paint and they are all stock. I just say thanks. I dont feel the need to compliment on stock bikes. If they are more rare like a Duc or something I will say something.

Are you regretting what you said to this man because it was a bit offsetting and not your intention? Or are you seriously wondering what would have been a more courteous reply?

I feel adults pretty much KNOW what is considered rude or not when speaking with other adults. Having spoken to your fair share of fellow humans, you have gained plenty of experiance.

If that was your first natural instinctive reply, then go with it. Dont be ashamed of being true to your form

But if you feel bad about and felt it could have been handled better, approach him and make amends. Dont grovel by any means.

Better to have allys than enemies.

Ive never had someone ask if i liked thier bike looking for a compliment. but yea i would of just said "Jea ive always liked those."
