Engine Knock / Travel Speeds?

Good Afternoon Fellow Riders

Just trying to see if this is a SportBike issue or just a Busa issue, But...

As some of you know, I am living up in Boston,Ma currently. The more I get stuck in traffic for long periods of time (freeway or city) when my girl starts to idle; I start to get engine knock. But if I get open traffic on the freeway and I stretch out her legs the knocking goes away. I am starting to get to the point, that I will not ride unless I have a distination that I can have room to open her up and stretch her legs. I know that you all are in Big "T" and have plenty of road, but wanted to see if anyone else has expierenced this?

"Busa" only just j/k
i think either engine oil thermal break down (vicosity) or clutch drum and steel plates may have some pitched spot.may try some basic first like use different oil brand (just reminder not over fill),then when you hear that knocking sound try works clutch in/out to see sound change its tone......do you use factory oil filter ???? i don't own "busa" (cause i not capable) .just my mechanical experience.CaligoneTx-Sbfuller....may knows

It only happens when, I have her in nuetral or when the clutch is pulled in. Once you release your squeeze on the clutch (in gear), it goes away. I have been using the the Castrol R4 racing oil for the last couple of changes. And she sits right on the indicator mark.
As to Corona Busa...yep she does get hot alot. I can hear that fan turning on constantly.

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength-

Mine is a little too... but I run the chit out of it and far and hard... Its not a chain tensioner in my case, nor an exhaust leak when warm(common w a/m) but a knock from all the a/m stuff on it when colder.

Purdy common to have clutch noise, sounds like knock, but should go away when clutch is pulled in, might wanna have someone who knows listen to it, but dont get conned into anything, if it was a rod or something really bad U prolly woulda allready known by now, might wanna get a couple opinions

Thanks for the responses. I will be putting her up for storage in a couple of weeks. We will be getting underway till mid Nov, then I will be flying home (League City) for about a month. By the time I get back, it will be snowing. I am not sure If I trust anyone up here, so I might just run her back to TX in the spring and have one of the MH's guys take a look at it.
