New toy!

No, it's not a bike, what everyone was expecting, it's a No-Mar tire changer with their tire balancer. I just ordered it 3 days ago and it showed up last night about 7. I'm heading out there now to get it put together and try it out.

Hopefully it'll save me some money since all the stealerships want $40 and up per tire to mount them if they're already taken off of the bike.

Just thought I'd share.

I thought about getting that balancer a while back. It looks nice.

Congrats. Might want to start getting people local to come get their tires changed and cut em a deal. That thing is sweet but I just looked up the price, you will have to go through alot of tires to recoup the cost. Wish I had the dough to buy a tool like that.

Let us know how it works out. Some friends and I have talked about going in together to get one but aren't sure how the nylon block things work.
Keep us posted, please.

Not so sure about that. Tube tires can be even more a pain in the sometimes.

easy there pilgrim. just saying, it can be more of a pain in the to deal with tubes. trying to get them in right, not twisted or pinched. Lining the stem up and getting it in, ect.

edit...

And correct me if I am wrong Squanto84, but has it ever taken us more than 30 mins to swap a single tire, tube or not? And we do this by hand. Just saying man?

maybe yall never got it done in less than 30 but i. lol jk

my dad has a construction company and i have always bein changing 18 wheeler tires and heavy equipment tires since i could lift a tire iron. and then when i started racinm motocross at nine if i couldnt work on the bike myself. including changing tires. the rule was i couldnt ride it. so i have changed a sick amount of tires by hand. and the bigger the tube tire the easier. so that supermoto was easy to me.

i dont joke about tires mane

im not claiming i can change a tire in 30 mins...but the awesome person who helps me does it by hand in his garage and knocks them out in no time with lil more than tire irons and some lube . And when we did tube tires, it seemed to be more of a pain.

That's the plan, make me a little and help other people out along the way. The only prob is that I don't live around Houston so that rules most of the people on this site out.

I know it's expensive but I don't like giving the dealerships way too much money to do something that takes them no time to do, I guess it's the principle of the matter.

much easier also to throw the new tire out in the sun and let it warm up abit.
makes the mounting so much easier

changing tires at a dealership sucks, you get a half an hour of pay, even if the customer brings in a heavily customized bike that has to have teh exhaust removed completely from the bike (such as with an older Victory Kingpin with a set of drag pipes on it...) but the exhaust has not been off in years so the slip joints are frozen together.

anyway enough ranting, that looks like a great setup to have!

The problem with this is the only dealership that's close enough to drive to wants $80 to change two tires that are already off of the bike. Something that takes them 15 minutes to do at most. I'm not one of those customers that brings in something that's a PITA, and if you ask me $40 per tire is price gouging.
