A buddy of mines bike just did that, it was still under warranty and the dealership said they wouldn't warranty it because it was "abuse." The bike only has 3600 miles on it and it's never been down. So....I'm going to go with the " kawasucki's" comment. He's upgrading to a HONDA.

Depends on how many parts are worn and need replacing. . . .

AND PLUS I'm against the idea of a new motor b/c I'll be facing the same problem down the line. Go to kawiforums.com and search thread titles with the word "trans" and read what pops up. There are so many guys having this problem its ridiculous.

sounds about like the yamaha 01-02 R6 transmission issue. everyone had that problem and yamaha told everyone, rider abuse, not covered.

Not that I care b/c I don't have a warranty but it REALLY sucks when you have a brand new 2005 or 2006 636 and 3k miles later your trans needs a rebuild and is NOT covered under your warranty

You left out the rest, it said kawi transmission. Other than that I love everything about this bike, I like the way everything is placed, it's been very easy to do maintenance on and so forth.
