How many miles on the bike? Using a quickshifter or anything other than stock parts for the shifting?

sounds like you need my 05 engine. for 500 bucks, you can't beat it. it's got a perfect shifting tranny and the 05 upgraded stator assembly, shift star, and forks. let me know if you're interested. i'll even throw in the service manual to help you out.

it's a common problem with the 04's. their shifter mechanisms weren't strong enough to handle the loads placed on them.

18k ish, some guys were having this problem in VERY low 4 digit miles!!!! All stock shifting. I'll guess and say 2k's or so on GP shifting.

No but I actually have been doing that lately on my 10. I've heard that more than once. Could you elaborate on it. I forgot exactly how it helps.

i am not aware that it helps anything. as far as I know putting constant pressure on your shifter makes it ride against the internals and wears the shift fork faster.
