He does pretty well (career-wise), so maybe it wasn't neccessarily about his needing the money, as much as it was about selling it to someone he felt comfortable with. He told me this bike and trailer represent a sentimental time in his life, and I think he hopes I would keep and make good use of both.

I was in constant communication with him, and made myself easily accessible. He did mention he appreciated my willingness to work with him on getting the paperwork in order, and I was willing to leave a deposit with him until he did so.
