ey mudbug, you painted it black or it came like that? I really want to do something with the frame...

And get Triumph alot. I have no brand designations on my bike whatsoever (not purposely done.). I didn't know they sold "naked bikes". Especially brands like Ducatti, as much as you pay for those... but thats another topic in itself...

LMAO!!!
Oooohhhh buddy, you don't know who you dealing with!
Man, I surf craigslists on a daily basis.
$8000!? Stop playin' guy.
Anything over $3000 and it ain't worth it to me...
All that means to me is something is too new on that bike/car that I will either just end up:
A. Breaking...
B. Being ripped/taken off...
or C. Doing either A or B than selling...

Imma brokeass, I don't dwell in the realm of "new" stuff...
like I said in another post far far far away... it's just not dirty enough...

...
And thats jus' how I roll...

i believe i've seen flat or semi-gloss clear coats, but don't quote me on that.

as far as wrap discoloring, if you do white, as it burns in it will brown a little bit, i'm going to paint over the wrap with a 2000 deg.F black paint, should also help to seal it and help it repel water so hopefully it won't rust out my pipes.

i get lots of people asking if my bike is a buell... even though buells are sport bikes

oh, and scooter does bad powder work, as soon as i feel i can go without my bike for a couple of weeks i'm gonna have him do my frame/swingarm in a black wrinkle finish

You can have the exhaust ceramic coated in flat or satin black. I tried this and it worked well on a car. There is a good place to have it done in NW Houston, just off Jones Road past 1960.

Use satin clear, like the one Kawasaki used on the magna blue and titanium ZXs. It wont make the bike shine, but protect the paint.

I just came upstairs from out of the garage cleaning up the bike and well, i have settled on my game plan, after thinking about it and reading the posts.
Someone on CustomFighter.com suggested I use a wire brush and really put a scrappin' to the exhaust and then hit it with some BBQ grill paint. And then after I cut my muffler down, wire brush that and hit it with some black epoxy paint.

Now, before I commit to this, anyone see any faults to this plan? The person I got the info from has actually done it himself, and worse come to worse, if it chips, I was told to just spray it again...

As for my clear coat, I will be on the prowl to find some "satin" or "matte" finish paint... But today I am pooped from degreasing the outta mah bike, so I am going to call it a day... And for everyone who wants to know, my OEM front fender came in today. All I am witing for now is my chain set and my rear tire hugger...any day now...

and for people wanting to see the bike, check out my blog:
http://web.mac.com/the_grey_john/iWe...n/Welcome.html

I don't have any pictures of my current works, but at least you get an idea of what the bike looks like...
