Thinking about new exhaust.

Im thinking about putting a new exhaust on my 954. "Akrapovic"
My bike sounds like a off weedeater!
I dont race my bike so do i really need the full system for $1,400 or would the bolt on for $500 be the better way to go?
What kind of horsepower would i be looking at?
The money isnt the issue. What should i do?
