Canon EF 17-40/4 L. Much better than the 16-35/2.8L.

There's wide angle lenses for Nikon as well . Remember, it's not the camera, it's the photographer. Actually the wide angle Nikkors are said to be very good.

Did you go ++++++ on the saturation? The colors have extra pop. Or is that a product of the wide angle?

Neither. All photos are out of cam (as I said, just a few quick snapshots) as far as saturation goes etc. I guess you're referring to the last one which looks that way because I bumped the radius up while sharpening in Photoshop.
Oh and the polarizing filter on the lens helps also with more popping colors.
