z1000 question

Today i rode with a guy who has a z1000 and i really like the looks of the bike alot. I was just wondering anyones opinions on this bike and the downsides of it. I would be coming from a 500 so I am also wondering if its too much bike too soon. I just cant get over that bike for some reason. So i guess my question is is should i pursue that or look into a 600 or something smaller than a liter bike. Also since its not really a SS would the insurance be cheaper. Thanks alot

Whether or not you should get it, is up to your maturity. If you can keep your right hand under control, then no problem...

If not, it doesn't matter how much experience you have, you're gonna die.

from the guys i work with who ride zx10's it may have a liter of displacement but it does not ride at all like a zx10, its slower they said, and far less able when it comes to getting the front end off the ground. still pretty cool looking though the stock muffler has to go asap.

A Z1000 has NO problem whatsoever getting the front end off the ground.

they were not saying it cant, just that the zx10 lifts it up a lot easier...after all the z100 is rated at 123 hp compared to the 160ish of the zx10r.
