Honda Civic

Thinking of trading in my taurus for something like a lil civic

decent performance, gas, price are the reasons

but what would be a good year to look for...i dont want to try new

but i would more then likely want to throw some mods on it, like body kit and pipe or whatever

so based on what i just said what would be a good year to look for, or another car or whatever

92-95 would be baller, but the miles would be uber high!!!
96-00 would be excellent, however the miles would be high.
01-05 seems kind of bland to me IMO.
06 present looks nicer.

Although the mileage wouldn't matter so much, you'd want something with the least amount of miles just because the rest of the car will most likely match the mileage (not always true but these are generic cars).
Really and truly you cannot go wrong with any year once it is in good repair.

The Si from any generation is the most sporty model available in the US.

the sportiest models are the Si....the 99-00 SI will be most likely high priced, beat to and likely to get stolen.
the 02-05 Si is ugly as **** and not very sporty.
the 92-95 Si also lacks sportiness.
the most recent Si is pretty nice, 6 speed, lsd, and 197 hp. of course its also very high demand.

if it was me i would get a 99-00 civic ex sedan in 5 speed and call it a day.

what kind of price range you looking at? the 00 and back will be pretty cheap and higher mileage. thing is those models are also great candidates for engine swaps if you want to go that route.

yo uare looking at spending more look at a 1-2 year old civic instead, they are larger and nicer and get similar gas mileage.

Well...there are a lot out there...take a look at this for instance...
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...000&cardist=63

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...000&cardist=12

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...000&cardist=32

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...000&cardist=63

It really depends on your needs, wants, etc. You can get an Honda S2000...but for under 20Gs it will have around 50K miles. Maybe a 03/04 Z4 2.5i with under 50K miles. An NC Miata (06+) with uber low miles. Sedans there is the WRX, EVO, Mazdaspeed 6, etc.

Uhh I have to say it cause I really like them...the 325i is a very good deal taking into consideration the mileage and that it is a sport packaged, premium packaged, xenon headlight, cold weather packaged car. Just thought I would throw that out there Plus if you can work on it youself the cost of ownership is not too shabby when the warranty period is up. It's also an 05 so it should somewhere around a year left on its warranty and all maintenance is covered until 4 years/50K miles from the date that it was sold so that's also a plus.
