In short form answer:

"The Forest" is the National Forest of Montgomery, part of highway 149 starting after 105. We have included other roads in this venture that lead all the way up to THEE road we all go up to ride.

Nowadays, the regulars that go in groups and now ride private rides are called 'Forest Gnomes.' We are keepers of the roads of Richards, Carlos, Montgomery and Anderson.

Now seriously... speed limits need to be observed as posted for legal reasons. The forest will seem slow at posted speeds, THEE road will not. We have seasoned to new riders that go off it regularly, almost one-for-one on our rides regardless what we do to separate groups by speed, experience, etc. It still happens.

What this ride will offer is a paced, comfortable ride through these roads; we can call them 'the fourth sister.' LOL... How you ride them when you come back with us on a normal weekend or by yourself/private ride is up to you. But we sincerely recommend gear, and on a Forest Gnome ride you will not be allowed to ride w the group without minimal equipment. We do this out of safety.

These roads will always improve your experience level no matter where you lie in your knowledge of your bike or your comfort in handling it. At posted speed limit it is easy to drag knee on some of these corners if you'd like to practice; so the technical level is above most other roads you will find in the immediate Houston area.

And on a TWS (Texas World Speedway) TTD, we can finish the ride by riding some free parade laps on the real track to really get the blood flowing... But this weekend is not one of them.

i45-ers....

I can lead an 8ish KSU for those whom want to ride over to 290 together. Will be a cruising pace. We can get there early, chill and await others to show up.

Let me know, we'll start a list if enough are interested. Include numbers in your PMs if I dont already have 'em so we can keep accountability for the ride.

Yes. I have a big one at work and I was ironically just given a trickle charger for BMWs that a salesman destroyed but I fixed today. It charges to maintain a battery at 1.75 amps. I just had to rewire the power wire. We already tested it. It will help maintain the battery, not sure if its strong enough to recharge a dead battery.

If you need to borrow one of them you're welcome to. I normally just jump my 600 and let it run for 20 minutes before I ride off. Cargo net and a cheap set of jumpers! Ya! Or push start...

add your name to list, but remove it if you can't make it.....

inclement weather automatically cancels the ride anyhow!
