even at speedlimit pace, some true "NOOBS" can be unsure on 149, so make sure to go posted turn speed limits as well. because the road i think its 60-65 the whole way. and the signs change to like 40 (the turn signs)

I used the signs (the speed limit was the indicator I used) as a guide to know what gear I should be in and to lower my speed accordingly. It worked out pretty well last time, and that was my first ride. There were a couple turn on 3090 that close up a bit instead of keeping a constant curve so very important to see the signs and ride within your limits. You do that and it will be a very enjoyable ride.

I recommend the speed limit or double the recommended/post limit, whichever comes first. That allows a 15mph posted corner to not exceed 30mph.

We'll take a vote to see how everyone feels at the meet spot, and go from there. If everyone feels better slowing to the posted corner speeds, that's what we'll do.

double the recommended is probably not the best for a noob ride.

double the recommened or the speed limit. That makes most the turns under 50mph on 3090. We have had over 3 months of rides without any mishaps at those speeds. Its the peeps who feel they can ride faster and then realize how much the road 'morphs' at higher speeds.

i consider 60mph the whole way casual myself but my 'safe speed' is 15 over double recommended( the speed I am confident I can take any corner unknown and have enough room to maneuver out.)

And in all honesty, w a train infront of you, its hard to make mistakes on that road. Most people dont take the time to learn how to ride backroads and watch the inside curve paint lines for corner direction etc.

that sounds a little more reasonable... i thought you meant 80 in the 40 curves, 90 in the 45 curves, i didn't really pay attention to the "whichever comes first" part
