Suggestions for a track bike for my buddy...

Okay... he's a monster ... 6'4"ish and 300lbs ... any suggestions for a track bike? He's not looking for a race bike, just something to have fun at the track with.

Thanks

Hmmmm. I'm 6'6" and 300, I guess I'm a monster too. I track a GSXR-1000 and enjoy it quite a bit. I don't seem to have much of a problem keeping the front end down. However, still need to be smooth and purposeful with the throttle.

6'5" 250. 2005 R6 for me. I can't ride it anywhere near as fast as its capable. So it is plenty for me. I have a 1krr for the streets.

Just make sure the suspension is set up for him.

Can sell it as is and make a good deal on it, or can part out the trick goodies and make him an even better deal!

That's what all racers said at one point in time . As long as the bike is setup for his current level/ability and weight, your friend will be fine.

I think he's mostly concerned about finding a bike that will actually "fit" him ... he sat on an 07 GSXR and felt like his knees were touching the clipons

If all he is going to do is an occassional track day and wants to ride it on the street he should get him a Busa. Sure its not the best bike for the track but at least he will feel somewhat comfortable. If hes not comfortable he will not enjoy himself. Just my 2 cents.
