No kidding. I think he's cutting across the grass somewhere.

I was averaging high 55's last year. Can't seem to get there this season. I want my Bridgestones back!!!

I'm not so sure if its the tires, its more like a what "frame of mind" are you in before the race starts. From my experience - I've noticed if I'm carefree and have everything sorted out and organized (track side, team mates, travel arrangements, gear, comfort level, etc etc) then I can usually get the holeshot and stay in the front of the F7 class. (Experts/Novice combined). I don't have problems running 53-54s the whole stint.

When I know I'm the only rider, or if things are bothering me, even if I get the holeshot - I feel I start to ride sloppy, I slowly drop back and have to waste a good 15-20 laps just to get in the right frame of mind. If I'm going through this phase, I usually won't put up a fight with anyone, I usually let them pass me. (Rick/Carlos can account for that), like @ Katy's last race, right before the race started I had some issues with the team riders, the bike (oil leak, missing spokes etc etc), some registration issues = all of which I still had in my mind coz of which I noticed I had a hard time getting and staying in the 55s for.

It may not seem a lot going from 55 to 53, but 2 seconds on a track like Katy is a hella lot!

Oh well. But yea 51 - is front back of expert. Only one expert racer was able to do that @ Katy (last race), and one Novice guy.

Hmmmm.

Naw, for me it's the tires. And that 5 extra pounds that I've put on since last year.
