Looks like it isn't a socket you need. But one hellacious hex key. Some people have some good suggestions in there as far as the tricks and homemade tools go.

I think it's a 24mm?

I have one of the hex head axle tools for sale, has 3 sizes on it: 19mm, 22mm, and 24mm.

$15.00

Go to the pipe fitting department at a hardware store; they have several hexkey connections that you can screw together to make a key to fit the axle and a socket you possess.
